The war of
America’s Independence or the American Revolution takes place between the years
of 1775 and 1783 but before that the colonists, people living in the
early United States, had been in a troublesome time with Great Britain being
in a tyranny, or oppressive form of government controlled by the ruler (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/tyranny).
Great Britain was putting these hard working colonists through the ringer with acts
(forms of taxation out on the colonists by Great Britain), strict laws, and so the
colonists start boycotting (refusing to do what the people see as unjust), being nonconformists (people who do not want to conform and change to fit the norm, http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nonconformist?s=t), and showing acts of becoming their own nation. The American Revolution had taken place due to the colonists being outrageously taxed, extremely strict laws, and the fact they were slaves to the British government.
