Battle of Concord· The British continue marching through Lexington to Concord
o Army supplies stored there · Militia men from all the surrounding communities gather o They hear news of the Lexington conflict · Brit, are now outnumbered 4 to 1 · Brit. Battle of Saratoga· Date: September 19, 1777
· Roughly about 10,000 Brit. Vs. 15,000 Colonists · Brit. planned to separate the colonies by taking control of the Hudson · Later the British tried again on October 7th but still failed · Brit. Battle and Siege in Yorktown· Date: September 28th, 1781-October 19th, 1781
· Generals: o Colonists: George Washington o French: Rochambeau o British: Cornwall · Kept Troops in NY as distracters while majority going down to VA · French Navy blockade the harbor keeping all Brit, ships out o Doesn’t let Cornwallis get his supplies for the winter · The French and Colonists had a total of 17,000 men o Split up into 2 groups for attack · The soldiers attack from the right and left and burn the city and fort o Brit.
